Inside Line Promotions – MESQUITE, Texas (March 20, 2018) – Jamie Ball is focused on consistency while tackling the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com as a full-time competitor for the first time in his career.

The season began last Friday at Devil’s Bowl Speedway, which hosted the 45th annual Spring Nationals.

“Going into the weekend we had a few main goals we wanted to accomplish,” Ball said. “To make the feature by a heat race and not have to transfer in by the B Main, to move forward from our initial starting position and to complete every lap in the feature and roll the car into the trailer at the end of the night were our goals.”

Most of those goals were accomplished as the White Lightning Motorsports driver opened the action by finishing where he started – second – in a heat race.

“Friday started off good by drawing an outside pole position for our heat race,” he said. “Harli (White) got the jump on the start and I was able to hang with her, but she held her line and we ended with a strong second-place finish.”

That earned enough points to lock into the 12th starting position in the A Main.

“The first couple of starts weren’t too smooth,” he said. “On the second attempt, I got into the frontstretch wall pretty bad and then I had a right rear tire go flat while we were under a red flag. I had to come into the work area and get that changed, which sent me to the rear of the field.”

After getting the tire changed, Ball restarted 21st. He was able to advance a few positions before finishing 18th.

“The track ended up taking rubber and I just couldn’t find a line that would work for me real well,” he said. “So overall the weekend’s result is somewhat of a disappointment. We had the car set up and ready to go for Saturday and wanted to redeem ourselves, but a rainout prevented our chances of that so we will be prepared for the next race on the schedule.”

Ball is scheduled to compete March 30-31 at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan., for the 8th annual Park City Cup/Air Capital Shootout.
