Inside Line Promotions – WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa (Sept. 22, 2015) – Jamie Ball wrapped up the Sprint Invaders season with an impressive performance last Saturday at 34 Raceway.

Ball rebounded from the B Main to post a top-five finish during the season finale en route to a third-place result in the championship standings.

“A top three was our goal,” he said. “A championship was the ultimate goal, but for our first full season with the Sprint Invaders it was definitely successful. We look forward to racing with them next year as well.”

The White Lightning Motorsports driver kicked off the event by finishing sixth in a heat race, which missed locking into the main event by only one position.

“We had lots of rain in Iowa on Friday,” he said. “It made for possibly the heaviest track I’ve raced on in my career, at least to start the night. I had a terrible start in the heat and that put us behind the eight ball.”

Ball then won the B Main from the pole position to start the main event on the outside of the eighth row.

“We totally changed the car up for the B Main,” he said. “We loosened it up more than you can imagine. We did really well. I ran a few different lines in the groove and above the groove.”

He continued to march forward throughout the first half of the main event.

“I had an amazing car,” he said. “I drove hard and everything went right. We got through the field pretty quick. We were up to eighth about halfway. Then we were able to avoid a crash with about five laps to go. We probably had a third-place car or so, but under a red flag the tires bled down and it tightened the car up. In the last five laps we weren’t able to make any progress, but we held on for a top five.”

Ball’s fifth-place result marked his seventh top five of the season.

He will take this weekend off before wrapping up the 2015 season on Oct. 2-3 at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., for the Bobby Parker Memorial with the Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprints.
