3/21/08
Texoma Motor Speedway - Witchita
Falls, Texas
This was the first ever
National Winged Outlaw Karts (NWOK) event. The weather was great for the
first outdoor race of the 2008 season. The night started off with a
very tacky track and we were turning low 9 seconds laps and throwing mud 30
feet into the air. At the end of hot laps the power plant in the Jamie Ball
#5jr kart would blow up and be finished for the night. Jody "Superbad"
Hegwood was generous enough to step aside and offer his power plant to our
team. We got it changed in time for the heat race. We started the heat race
in the last starting position and we were able to make a charge to a second
place finish. This gave us first row outside for the feature. We
checked out winning by over half a lap and recorded our second A-Main
victory in a row for 2008. We look to keep the 2 win streak alive next
weekend as we will be attending the Sandbox Invitational race in New
Richmond, Wisconsin. Please check back later for more updates.
2/2/08
Springfield, MO -
Win number one for the Jamie Ball racing team came
during Round 2 of the Lucas Oil Indoor Winter Nationals. Jamie started
the night off well drawing a number 3 to put him on the front row of
his heat race. He started on the pole and checked out winning by a
full straightaway. Winning the first heat race put him in perfect
position to take the team’s first victory of the season. He was
scheduled to start on the pole of the feature. The car was perfect
throughout the whole feature. The race was dominated by Jamie winning
by a full straightaway. Also as an exhibition Jamie competed in the
wingless event finish 5th place.
The race was the first of the 2008 season. Look for
many more wins to come in the future for this racing team as they are
more prepared than ever for the 2008 racing season.
